April 2019, Lili and her friends were out on the town for a proper night out. The Tucson heat pushed them to the electric energy (and air conditioning) of a show at Gentle Ben's.

Lili spotted Alec, dancing and cooling off with a hand fan, and approached the stranger to ask if he would fan her.

After graduating in 2019, Lili moved back to Colorado while Alec relocated to Phoenix. They kept in touch by sharing photos and videos from the local concerts and shows they were attending.

In 2020, Lili moved to Phoenix for graduate school. To streamline her move and save on shipping costs, she asked Alec if she could have her IKEA furniture sent to his house.

They hung out the day she drove into Phoenix, and never stopped hanging out...
